Pag-IBIG Fund – Home Development Mutual Fund


To our friends in the Filipino Community in the Netherlands,


We are pleased to inform you of the recent signing by Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of Republic Act 9679 or the Home Development Fund Law of 2009.  

With the new law, which took effect 1 January 2010, membership to the Fund has become mandatory for all employees covered by the Social Security System (SSS) and the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), regardless of their status of employment or nature of appointment.  Mandatory Fund coverage now also extends to include Filipino seafarers and other Filipinos working for foreign-based employers.  The Pag-IBIG Fund coverage of overseas Filipino workers will provide them greater access to the savings and loan benefits which are exclusively available to Fund members.
